The 1960s
June 1966 | Founded at 5-1-13 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Began handling crimp-style wiring terminals and various types of connectors. |
April 1967 | Opened a workshop in Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, and established a wire harness division. |
August 1968 | Hero Electric Co., Ltd. was incorporated with a capital of 6 million yen. Kenji Seki was appointed as the first President & CEO. |
April 1969 | Officially entered the automotive aftermarket and began expanding sales of products such as the "B-14" crimping tool for professional automotive repair. |

The 1970s
November 1970 | Relocated the head office to 3-2-8 Higashi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. |
October 1972 | Developed and launched manufacturing and sales of a crimp-type battery terminal and the dedicated compression tool "#D-860". |
June 1975 | Increased capital to 12 million yen. |
December 1978 | Increased capital to 30 million yen. |

The 1980s
April 1980 | Developed and launched the Hero-original crimping tool “D-822”. |
August 1980 | Acquired industrial land in Kawayanagi, Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture. Relocated the press processing and wire harness divisions to establish the Kawayanagi Factory. |
August 1983 | Established a progressive die division at the Kawayanagi Plant. |
March 1985 | Acquired the first-phase factory relocation site in the Mashimori District of Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, which was jointly developed by the Pollution Control Corporation (now the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency of Japan) and the City of Koshigaya. |
January 1988 | Commenced construction of the Mashimori Plant (currently the Head Office Plant). |
July 1988 | Completed construction of the Mashimori Plant (currently the Head Office Plant). Transferred the press processing and die divisions from the Kawayanagi Plant. |
December 1988 | Developed and began manufacturing and sales of Hero Electric's original Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) battery terminal series. |
June 1989 | Toru Yasui appointed as the second President & CEO. |
November 1989 | Transferred the wire harness division from the Kawayanagi Plant. |



Battery Terminals
The 1990s
March 1990 | Developed and launched the FRC-100, a crimping tool compatible with waterproof crimp terminals. |
June 1998 | Chikashi Fujii appointed as the third President & CEO. |
March 1999 | Relocated the head office from Higashi 3-chome, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, to Mashimori, Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture, aiming to unify production and sales operations. |

The 2000s
April 2001 | Developed and launched the Hero Electric original Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) Battery Terminal (Conversion Type) series “DXL / DXS”. |
April 2002 | Developed and launched the Hero Electric original handy crimper “D-20i”. |
January 2008 | Developed and launched Hero Electric the original crimping tool “FRH-07”. |
June 2008 | Toshikatsu Kato appointed as the fourth President & CEO. |



The 2010s
October 2015 | As part of our CSV (Creating Shared Value) initiatives, Hero Electric conducted educational outreach through events at automotive technical schools, providing instruction on proper crimping techniques using our original bullet terminals (B-1) and the FRH-07 crimping tool. (Activities continued until May 2023) |
April 2017 | Developed and launched the Hero Electric original multi-type battery terminals, the “DML / DMS” series. |
February 2018 | Issued new shares through a third-party allotment to Tokyo Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd., a government-backed policy implementation agency under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, thereby increasing capital to 51 million yen. |
March 2018 | Hiroki Kato appointed as the fifth President & CEO. |
August 2018 | Celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hero Electric’s founding. |



The 2020s
October 2022 | Introduced a 24K gold-plated version to the Hero Electric original Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) battery terminal series and began product sales. |
April 2023 | Developed the Hero Electric original multi-conversion adapter for battery terminals and obtained design rights. |
November 2023 | Launched the "DMPL / DMPS Series" — Hero Electric's original Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) multi-type battery terminals. |




Origin of the company name “HERO”
The name “Hero Electric” originates from the location of the company’s original workshop established in 1967 — Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
The founder, Kenji Seki, also named the company with a strong desire for it to one day become a true “hero” in the industry.
